About Phillip C. Demars

Phillip was diagnosed with stage IV sarcoma at age 18. He spent the next four years since his diagnosis fighting for his life. He did this with strength, grace, and hope. During his many years in and out of children's hospitals, he helped many youths learn the joy of art. He felt helping kids gave his life meaning.

Phillip inspired many children, leaders at the SRF, family members, and friends with his love and caring nature. Many of his photos were taken while he was so terribly ill, yet in each of them, you can see that he was always grateful to be alive!
